Happy 1 year!

I can't believe it has already been a year, its been awesome!

We decided to go out on Saturday night since our anniversary was on the 8th (Sunday and mother's day).  I had been given a gift certificate at work to a nice restaurant so we decided to go there and get some good grub.  We went to the New Yorker in downtown SLC.  Our reservation was at 6pm on a Saturday night, apparently I wasn't aware that is considered an early time for dinner because we were there with a bunch of "old" couples there, it was funny!

Here is what we ate:
Coconut crab cake with mango salsa

I think he likes it

Slow roasted tomatoes with mozzarella and avocados topped with pine nuts, capers and a balsamic vinaigrette

David presenting the food (note his hand)

Pappardelle with Main Lobster

cheesy smile and short hair!

Chicken Picatta with whipped potatoes and asparagus

This was creme brulee... it was just so good we forgot to take a picture before we dug in.

That morning our oven's element burned out so it has been out of commission since then.  We didn't get to make a dinner for our anniversary so the bishop's wife told me I could bake our cake at her house and she kept us over for dinner.  What an eventful weekend!

Here is to an eternity more of amazing years together

Happy belated Anniversary! Food looks good. Brian and I went out at 6 PM on Valentine's at a swanky restaurant in Downtown Sac and we were the only people under 60 there besides the waiters. So I totally know what you mean. Do you think 7 PM makes much of a difference?
