2 years ago I met the man of my dreams.  It was Monday June 8 that I first saw this tall drink of water.  He was sitting down in another room at the bishop's house of the YSA ward.  I could tell he was tall but I never would have guessed 7'3".
The first time I went up to him he walked away... that was new.  He came up later and introduced himself.  He was so nervous it was cute!
The following Thursday we met up again at a bonfire and we were like magnets.  Even though we may not have been talking to each other the whole time we were always nearby.  We ended up having a good chat by the end of the bonfire and he said he would call me the next day.
I guess Friday could be considered our "first date".  He called me around noon and was talking about the Stanley Cup game that was going on that day and asked me if I liked hockey.  That was about all the conversation entailed.  I got off the phone and laughed inside to myself.  I texted him and asked if I could come over and watch the game with him (that's what he was trying to get at on the phone).  He quickly responded with a yes and gave me his address.  I ended up meeting the whole family that night... all 10 of them besides David.  We had such a fun night!
That Sunday was his homecoming talk for his mission (yes, we met 9 days after he got home).  He had asked me about 3-4 different times to come to the talk but I never gave him a firm yes.  Of course I showed up and it happened to be at the same time as his mom and little sister.  They were so kind  and invited me to sit with them.  I loved seeing David's reaction when he saw me sitting there.
From the beginning I felt like this was something special and those first two weeks with him were filled with so much fun and developing love.
I will never forget June '09 and the special time we had together.

Here is a photo montage from the beginning until now:

I love being in love!

Love the memories. We were driving home when the whole hockey conversation and text took place. He was so grateful that you helped him out on that invitation. Glad he found such a smart lady and a wonderful wife!

Fun! I liked rehearing how you met. Love the recap of pics, too. Happy 1 year! It seems like it's been longer than a year... Does it seem that way for you, too?
