All Time Leader!!

Let me just say how amazing David is.  He's AMAZING.  Okay I got it out of my system for a little while.

Tuesday night the Utes had a game against TCU.  The game that everyone was counting on David to break the career block record.  Well, its a good thing you can count on David!  Yeah, he tied the record in the first minute or two of the game and only a few minutes later he had the record.  He's a shot blocker and everyone knows it!

The game was unpredictably close and it came down to one play by TCU to try to get ahead.  Well, the not-so-smart guard on TCU must have felt bigger than he was because he drove straight at David.  Well, David stood his ground, the little guy tossed the ball up, and... can you guess what happened?  It should be pretty easy... David blocked it of course.  Its just what he does.  The crowd started chanting his name "David Foster" and he got player of the game, because he is... what did I say before?  Oh yeah, AMAZING.  Of course he was flooded by the media after so it took forever to go home, but I'm glad he had some glory.  I listened to one of the interviews online, it was great.  At the end he told the guys he had to go because he had homework to do.  How great is that, what a guy!

He is only a junior and has at least 3 more games this season.  Imagine how far ahead he is going to be with the record after next year :)

Here is the block that broke the record (I think its this one):
And here is the block that won the game:

I love Sundays!

I am sitting on my couch all alone waiting for David to get back from basketball events and I can't help but think of how wonderful Sundays are.  I'm listening to uplifting music with the sun streaming in through the windows and my spirit is so high right now!  Sundays are the day when I don't have to think about the things that are going on in the world around me, I can focus in on eternal truths.  I can think of the love around me, I can think of the love that my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for me.  All my worries just melt because I know that If I am making the right decisions and consecrating my life to the them and the Kingdom of God then my family will be blessed.
There is endless love that everyone can partake of and I feel so blessed to know that They are there for me and my family.

I also love the family time that happens on Sundays.  All my childhood memories of Sundays are of the sun through the windows, uplifting music, modest dress, clean house, and family participation in dinner and family home evening.  To me, Sundays are never long enough because there is always so much good that can be felt and done.  That is something I will strive to have in my family.  I so look forward to the day when we welcome our little ones in with love and give them a home where they constantly feel love from their earthly and heavenly parents.  Family is a celestial concept and David and I are both very excited when the day comes to be parents of celestial beings and learn how our understanding of love only expands.

I am SO in love with my husband and our mutual feelings of what is right for our family and for our eternal progression.

Thank you Sundays for being a special day where I am renewed and reminded of what is truly important!

Day of reckoning on Friday!

So I have a follow up appointment on Friday with my gastro doctor.  I was supposed to have it like 3 weeks ago but I just completely forgot.  I guess that's what happens when your body is doing okay.  I finally made an appointment today and they were able to fit me in on Friday.

Here is how I imagine the appointment will go:
Doctor: How has it been since the colonoscopy?
Me: I'm doing great, I have a normal bowel movement everyday (sorry I didn't warn you I'd be saying something like this)
Doctor: That is wonderful news.  Have you made any changes?
Me: Yes, I'm taking some great probiotics, I cut out dairy (for the most part... cheese is my weakness), and I've limited my refined sugar intake.  I've also been eating more raw fruits and vegetables.
Doctor: Those are all great things to do.  Well, I think my work here is done.  You're cured!  Go make babies!!

I wonder how accurate I'll be...

"Old" apartment woes

We love about 70% of our apartment.  We love the ceilings, the room, the storage, and what we have made of it.  We HATE (well mostly me but David agrees because he doesn't like it when I complain) the furnace and the washer/dryer in the basement.

Furnace--
We have it set at 68 degrees on auto heater and the apartment rarely gets above 66.  Most of the time it lingers around 65.  You would think that setting at 68 would make it pretty efficient for a low gas bill right? WRONG!  I opened our gas bill today-- $80 for a freezing apartment!!  I am fuming!  Totally not cool.  We even asked the land lord to come in last month when the gas bill was $60.  He came in and apparently did nothing.  Our hallway is significantly warmer than our apartment.

Washer/dryer--
First of all David hates basements ever since he was a kid so I don't require him to go down there very often.  Second, I hate that we have to pay for lousy old washers and driers.  Well, when we can we use friends and family's washers and dryers to avoid the basement but we usually have to do about 1 wash a week down there.  I was getting really frustrated with the dryers because they weren't working well enough.  A few weeks later I saw an out of order sign... could they not have put it on earlier so I didn't waste my precious quarters??  And then-- here's the kicker-- they put in new dryers that are twice the cost and don't dry twice as fast.  Now I have to find out how many quarters it takes to dry a load which will probably end up being around 7, that means its almost $3 just for one simple complete load.  You gotta be kidding me!!

I really do not want to move, it is such a hassle especially if we'll probably just be moving again in a year and a half.  Ugh!!

Thank you for reading or not reading my rant.  I think we will resort to space heaters now instead of my other option of having a David and landlord throw-down.  I think we all know what the result of that would be :)

Please forgive below

I'm sorry for all those that I worried with the post below.  I have been having a really difficult time the last month-month and a half and that post was made on my lowest day.  David and I have only been together about 7 days total since thanksgiving before I made that post.  It wears on someone missing the love of their life!  David got back the next day and we have been spending a lot of time together-- just him and me-- cuddling, laughing, playing.  I feel SO much better.

We have had some good talks since he got back about our future and my heart is comforted.  I have a great man and I'm definitely not as scared about the future anymore.  We will be blessed because our goals are righteous goals even though they may not be presented in the easiest way.

Life isn't easy but right now it is so much better!

If only...

Isn't this a pretty picture?

I wish I could go back to this day.  Where everything seemed like roses and sunsets.  When we were both healthy, we knew what our goals and our future was going to be, we had things "figured out".

Fast forward to today... 8 months later.  I'm not healthy... kind of (I have been normal for 3 weeks so far).  David and I have a large trial on our hands right now.  This is a huge growing time for us and I'm so scared.  We both seem to be in a bit of denial.  I'm trying to be strong for our family but I can't do it alone and with David being gone so often I find myself feeling like I'm bearing the burden by myself.  This is a huge turning point for us.  We have the potential to do a lot of good but it seems like things just won't go the right way for us.  Just cant catch a break!

I'll keep trying but I'm not sure how much longer I can be the strong one

New Year... new decisions

2011 is going to be a big year for us.  Lots of decisions to be made about our family.  I'm a bit overwhelmed right now.  Hopefully we do things the right way!

Happy New Year!
